Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026. /Kabar/. The holding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek will increase the importance of Kyrgyzstan in the international arena, politician, expert Alikbek Jekshenkulov shares his opinion.

According to him, today the influence of the SCO is expanding beyond the regional level and into the global space.

“The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is gaining strength, and its influence is moving from the regional level to the global South. Against the backdrop of the confrontation between the West and the global South, SCO member states such as China, Russia, and India see great opportunities in the development of economic and human potential.

Today we will also talk about the further development of the SCO. This is not limited to security, political, and economic issues, but also includes cultural, humanitarian, and spiritual areas. Stability has been established in the region, and countries are moving to a new stage of development. All of them have a desire to build developed, economically and technologically advanced states,” he said.

The politician noted that the SCO countries also pay special attention to the development of human capital.

“Special attention is paid to human capital, that is, to the development of citizens of the SCO member states. The main thing is to strengthen regional and global security based on the principles of mutual understanding, respect and equality. Today, issues of global importance for humanity, such as artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and education, are being discussed.

In addition, the SCO member states are uniting on issues of world politics, the global economy, and the development of humanity, including spiritual development. This is very important. Because today humanity has accepted a multipolar world. The era of one state trying to dominate another is gradually receding. The efforts of some countries to preserve a unipolar world do not satisfy the majority today. In this regard, it is of great importance that important issues of world politics, economics, and human development are being discussed in Bishkek today,” concluded Jekshenkulov.
