Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. Educators were presented with an apartment, cars, cash certificates, and household appliances at an event in Bishkek dedicated to Education Workers' Day.
According to the Bishkek City Hall, the ceremony honoring teachers took place on October 3, at the T. Satylganov Kyrgyz National Philharmonic.
The event was attended by the capital's mayor, Aibek Junushaliev; Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva; Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation Gulzat Isamatova; Chairman of the Bishkek City Council Bekzhan Usenaliev; and representatives of Bishkek's education system.
A highlight of the celebration was the awarding of winners of the "Best Teacher of the Year 2026" contest. Fifty-two teachers who secured top places received cash certificates worth 60,000, 80,000, and 100,000 soms.
Educators who achieved the highest results were presented with particularly valuable gifts:
Nurbek Aidarbek uulu (music teacher at School No. 31), who achieved the highest result, received the keys to a one-room apartment in the "Asman Residence" complex under the State Mortgage Company housing program, along with a certificate for 500,000 soms to purchase household appliances;
Zhyldyz Bekturovna Belekova (history teacher at School No. 118) received the keys to a Chevrolet Tracker car;
Nurgul Mekeilovna Karybekova ("Man and Society" teacher at School No. 84) received the keys to a Chevrolet Cobalt car.
Distinguished education professionals were also honored with letters of appreciation, certificates of merit, silver badges, the "Patriot" badge, and valuable gifts—specifically wristwatches—from the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Bishkek City Council, and the Bishkek City Hall.
Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev congratulated the teachers on their professional holiday and noted that more than 12,000 educators currently work across the capital's 122 municipal schools, 129 kindergartens, and supplementary education institutions.
Over the past three years, the city has built 26 new schools and academic buildings, carried out major renovations at 144 institutions, and opened 21 new kindergartens, two additional building extensions, and a Young Technicians' Center.
