Bishkek, April 21, 2025. /Kabar/. On April 23, Bishkek will host the International Book Festival "XVI BOOK FEST - 2025", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
According to the Ministry of Culture, the festival will last from 10:00 to 19:00.
The organizers aim to popularize the culture of reading, especially among young people, as well as to emphasize the importance of domestic book publishing and the contribution of writers, librarians, teachers and publishers to the cultural development of Kyrgyzstan.
The festival program includes:
a wreath-laying ceremony on Erkindik Boulevard;
an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory;
a unique exhibition of the first Kyrgyz book "Alippe - 1924-2025";
a conference "Current issues of the Kyrgyz book and copyright";
master classes on translation studies from poets and writers of Russia;
excursions to the Writers' Union;
a live concert "Sounds of Book Pages" in the Osmonov National Library;
a free film screening in the Ala-Too cinema.
The festival will cover not only Bishkek - more than 1,000 libraries across the country will take part in literary meetings, exhibitions, performances and competitions. In addition, a STEAM caravan will pass through the country to involve young people in science, art and technology.
