Bishkek, March 30, 2026. /Kabar/. The grand opening of Center for Traditional Crafts was held in the village of Ornok in Issyk-Kul region at the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the project was implemented as part of a collaboration between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea with the support of the UNESCO ICHCAP. Its goal is to develop traditional crafts, promote cultural tourism, and preserve intangible cultural heritage.
The new center is a modern space designed for master classes, exhibitions, and educational programs. As part of the project, the museum was renovated, the infrastructure was improved, and modern equipment was provided. The opening ceremony will include exhibition dedicated to Dinara Chochunbaeva, artisan workshops, and cultural events.
This initiative will significantly contribute to the development of cultural tourism and the crafts industry in Kyrgyzstan.
