The First Central Asia – European Union Interparliamentary Cooperation Forum has begun in Samarkand, UzA reports.

The event is being organized on the initiative of the Head of State, proposed at the Central Asia – European Union Summit held on April 4, 2025.

It is attended by representatives from the parliaments of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, along with members of the European Parliament, experts, representatives of international organizations, civil society, academia, and business.

Sessions will address topical issues such as the state of political dialogue and its prospects, the green transformation, economic connectivity, digital security, inclusive governance, and the modern role of parliamentary diplomacy.
