Cooperation between trade unions of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan discussed in Tashkent

Bishkek, May 12, 2025. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan Duishonkul Chotonov held a meeting with Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Kudratilla Rafikov, during which the parties discussed the interaction of the two countries in this area and further areas of cooperation, the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Tashkent said.

The sides noted that thanks to the political will of the heads of state and mutual trust, bilateral cooperation is reaching a new qualitative level.

Ambassador Chotonov emphasized that the interaction of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan with Uzbek trade union organizations creates broad opportunities for protecting workers' rights and ensuring their interests. In particular, it was emphasized that such cooperation plays an important role in improving social protection, improving working conditions and establishing fair relations.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening ties between trade union organizations of Central Asia and exchanging experiences was also discussed. The parties noted that joint efforts play a significant role in ensuring the rights and social guarantees of workers in the region.

In addition, a positive assessment was given to the implementation of the bilateral cooperation agreement signed in December 2024. It was emphasized that this document will become the basis for further strengthening ties between regional, industry and primary trade union organizations of the two countries.

The issue of developing the Buston boarding house, transferred to the jurisdiction of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, was also considered. The Federation's leadership shared plans for modernizing the facility and noted that this initiative is aimed at strengthening the health of workers and improving their rest.

In conclusion, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation and implement measures aimed at protecting the interests of workers.
