CSTO foreign ministers meet in New York

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. On September 25, a working meeting of the foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states was held in New York City on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, chaired by Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of international and regional security and exchanged views on key areas of cooperation within the Organization and in the context of fulfilling the goals and principles enshrined in the UN Charter.

Particular attention was paid to aligning the CSTO's actions with UN priorities for maintaining international peace and security, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and countering contemporary threats, including terrorism, extremism, and transnational crime.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the CSTO's core principles and objectives, emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and timely exchange of information to effectively respond to emerging challenges, and emphasized the importance of coordination with international organizations, including the UN.

At the end of the meeting, the foreign ministers agreed to continue regular dialogue at all levels to enhance the effectiveness of collective security and sustainable development in the region, in close cooperation with multilateral organizations.
