Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. Digital technologies are increasingly raising risks to the critical infrastructure of CSTO member states, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said in response to a question from a Kabar News Agency journalist regarding cooperation against cybercrime.

Tasmagambetov noted that the issue of cybercrime requires heightened attention and coordinated efforts across the organization.

“Indeed, this year we paid very close attention to cybersecurity issues, which led to the organization of the first international conference on cybersecurity. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kyrgyzstan for hosting the event — the organization was excellent,” he said.

According to him, more than 200 representatives and specialists from relevant government bodies responsible for cybersecurity took part in the conference. Representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, leading cybersecurity experts, and companies working in this field also attended.

“This was the first time that cybersecurity training was conducted within the CSTO framework. Such exercises usually take place in the Russian Federation, but had never before been held within the CSTO,” he emphasized.

He added that since 2008 the CSTO has been conducting a special interstate operation known as “Proxy” to combat information-related crime.

“Its two main objectives are: first, the protection of critical information infrastructure, and second, combating crime or criminal activity in the field of information technology. We have developed strong experience and cooperation with specialized government agencies,” Tasmagambetov said.
