Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. Days of Russian Culture will be held in Kyrgyzstan from October 29 to November 2, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Timurlan Azhymaliev told at a press conference at Kabar agency.
According to him, this large-scale event will be further confirmation of the close cultural ties between the two countries. The program of the Days of Culture is very rich and diverse. It includes a gala concert of Russian artists, a Russian film festival, performances by Nikita Mikhalkov's "Workshop 12" theater, as well as an exhibition and film screening dedicated to the history of Kyrgyz cinematography, said Azhimaliev.
The official opening of the Days of Russian Culture will take place on October 29 at 7:00 PM on the stage of the Toktogul Satylganov National Philharmonic Hall. The concert will feature Honored Artists of Russia - Pelageya, Sergey Volchkov, Alexandra Vorobyova, Sofia Onopchenko, Vadim Eilenkrig, Nikolai Zemlyanskikh and Anastasia Tyurina. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the Phonograph-Sympho-Jazz orchestra under the direction of People's Artist of the Russian Federation Sergey Zhilin.
On the same day, October 29, the Russian film festival will open at the Manas cinema. The film August will be presented to the audience, followed by a meeting with the director Nikita Vysotsky. In the following days, the films Love of the Soviet Union, Not Listed, Doctor of Dinosaurs, First on Olympus and Kraken will be shown.
Sergey Bardakov, director of the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov, said that negotiations with Nikita Mikhalkov's Workshop 12 theater had been underway since February of this year. Previously, it was not possible to invite the theater to Bishkek, but this year, thanks to the Days of Russian Culture, it became possible. This is the first visit of the Workshop 12 theater to Kyrgyzstan for the countries of Central Asia. The delegation consists of 96 people, including actors and technical staff, he emphasized.
It should be noted that from October 30 to November 2, the "Workshop 12" theater of Nikita Mikhalkov will be on tour at the State Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov. The Bishkek audience will see the performances 12 and Tale of Lost Time based on the work of Evgeny Schwartz.
Almaz Tulekeev, director of the state film center Kyrgyzfilm, in turn, announced that from October 29 to November 1, there will be free screenings of Russian films at Manas cinema, but tickets must be booked in advance on the website ticket.kg.
