Bishkek, Nov. 18, 2025 /Kabar/. Almaz Musaev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, spoke about the urgent need to review and update the Red Data Book of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to him, the last edition of the Red Data Book was published while ago, and a large-scale analysis and monitoring of the state of flora and fauna is now required, followed by the preparation of a new edition.
"We are seeing a decline in some species and the disappearance of individual plants. At the same time, new species that had not previously been studied are being discovered during expeditions. Therefore, we will seek a revision of our Red Data Book," Musaev noted.
Ministry of Natural Resources emphasizes that updating the Red Data Book will allow for updated data on the country's biodiversity and strengthen conservation measures.
