Bishkek, Jan. 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Due to a sharp cold snap, schools in the Ak-Talaa region of Naryn Oblast have switched to distance learning for one week, deputy head of the region, Kanybek Esenaliev, told Kabar News Agency.

According to him, the decision to switch to online learning was made at a meeting of the task force to ensure the safety and health of students.

"The cold is intensifying in the district. Morning temperatures are dropping below normal, reaching -30 to -35°C. "There are students who have to travel up to two kilometers from remote locations to school by 7 or 8 a.m. Therefore, it was decided to transfer them to distance learning for one week," Esenaliev said.
