Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev told Birinchi Radio that substation of 500 kW will be built in Balykchy.
According to him, environmental experts from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) spent a year conducting research before deciding to invest in the construction of the substation in Balykchy. Europeans pay a lot of attention to the environment. They studied which birds migrate there. Whether the power lines would interfere with these birds in the future. Whether the wind turbines would interfere with or somehow harm the bird population, and so on. And all these studies took 12 months. These studies are now complete. And it's very good that the investors study everything in such detail and pay attention to the environment, said T. Ibraev.
