Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. 2,619 polling stations were equipped with video cameras allowing for monitoring of the voting process.
According to Tynchtyk Shainazarov, Chairman of the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission (CEC), following complaints on social media, CEC conducted an inspection of camera recordings at polling stations in District No. 13.
The inspection revealed unauthorized video cameras at 35 polling stations in this district. According to Shainazarov, such devices violate legal requirements and could interfere with the free expression of the will of voters. In some cases, voters were filmed from the moment they entered the polling station, passed identification, and until they cast their ballots, which is a violation of the law.
"We, the Central Election Commission, made the decision within the scope of our authority." "The video recordings were the basis. The owner of this total control will be identified. Violations were identified at 35 polling stations, and we cannot say that the elections in this district were conducted properly," he noted.
Law enforcement agencies will also conduct an investigation to determine whether there was any pressure on voters or evidence of bribery.
