Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2026 /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov stated that it is too early to gauge the level of competition in the upcoming presidential election, as the registration of candidates has not yet concluded. He made these remarks while responding to a journalist’s question during an interview with a local media outlet.
According to the head of state, the candidate registration process is set to end on November 13. The president believes that several more contenders may register before this deadline.
"I believe that every candidate will be a serious contender," Zhaparov said.
"The Kyrgyz people have a proverb: 'If you consider yourself a hero, regard the other as a mighty warrior.' Therefore, I believe serious contenders will certainly emerge," the president declared.
