Bishkek, May 23, 2025. / Kabar /. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Asein Isayev, held a meeting with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (RCCA) Kakha Imnadze.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the RCCA, including in the field of countering terrorism and combating drug trafficking and climate, as well as the activities of the Regional Center during 2025. Imnadze provided information about the briefing held at the UN Security Council in February 2025, the current political and economic situation in Afghanistan and its impact on Central Asia.
Isayev noted, taking into account the positive developments in Central Asia in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, that the Kyrgyz Republic considers preventive diplomacy and the peaceful settlement of all issues through diplomatic means as the main mechanism in cooperation with international partners.
The high level of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN structures, and especially the RCCA, was also noted, as well as the willingness to continue further comprehensive cooperation with the RCCA within its mandate on preventive activities and assistance to Central Asian countries in effectively addressing to security challenges and threats.
