First freight train departs on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan route

Bishkek, Feb. 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Joint Uzbek-Chinese company UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd has sent the first block train from China to Tajikistan, press service of Oztemiryolkonteyner reports.

According to the information, the train consists of 8 40-foot (12-meter) containers. They are loaded with consumer goods and construction equipment. The train leaves the Chinese city of Lanzhou, passes through the territory of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan along the multimodal transport corridor, and reaches the Dushanbe-2 station.

The total length of the route is more than 3.5 thousand kilometers. The train is expected to cover this distance in 18-20 days. The new transport corridor was launched in a pilot mode within the framework of agreements on deepening regional cooperation between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Tariff concessions were provided for in this direction with the support of the Uzbekistan Railways company.

Recall that in July 2025, transport company called UTK International Logistics was established jointly with China. The new structure will develop cargo transportation between China and Central Asian countries and carry out cargo consolidation.

The company's assembly center was also launched in the free economic zone of Lanzhou. The head, Mirziyod Mirkhamidov, reached an agreement with Gansu International Logistics to organize transit shipments through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
