Bishkek, Nov 3, 2025 /Kabar/. Since the beginning of 2025, five small hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 41.29 MW have been commissioned in the country, Ministry of Energy reports.
New small hydropower facilities:
- Aksy HPP - 4.75 MW;
- Boz-Uchuk HPP - 5.54 MW;
- Koisu HPP - 9 MW;
- Ysyk-Ata HPP-2 - 4 MW;
- Karakul HPP - 18 MW.
Additionally, four more small hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 3.93 MW are planned to be commissioned by the end of this year.
A solar power plant with a capacity of 1.95 MW is also currently operating in the country, providing an additional contribution to the development of renewable energy.
Another important development of the year was the signing of investment agreements with private companies for the construction of five solar power plants and one wind power plant with a total installed capacity of 3,150 MW. These projects will be a significant step toward energy independence and sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan.
