The documentary series "President", directed by journalist Aibek Biybosunov, has recently been released in Kyrgyzstan. The four-part film examines the work and decisions of President Sadyr Zhaparov during his time in office.

The documentary traces the key stages of the president’s tenure, highlighting that since taking office a range of political, economic, and social challenges have been addressed, while ambitious long-term goals for national development have been outlined.

Kabar News Agency invites readers to reflect on Kyrgyzstan’s achievements over the past five years, as well as on the president’s determination and sense of responsibility in tackling the country’s most pressing issues.

Five years have passed since Sadyr Zhaparov was elected president. According to state and public figure Aaly Karashev, looking back inevitably raises the question of what condition the country was in five years ago.

Karashev noted that the first thing to examine is the data. He points to key economic indicators, including growth in gross domestic product and increases in budget revenues, emphasizing that over the past five years Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated tangible progress in economic development.

"Today, our country has embarked on a path of sustainable economic growth. Looking at the last three to four years, gross domestic product has grown by 7-9% annually, and by the end of 2025, growth was 10.2%, with the total volume exceeding 1 trillion 600 billion soms.

In terms of revenue and the budget, the country's consolidated budget has exceeded 1 trillion soms. This is a very significant figure. "By comparison, at the end of 2021, if we look at the national budget separately, its volume did not even reach 200 billion soms. Today, the national budget has tripled. I would say that this is the main indicator of the successes achieved," he stated.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant success in foreign policy. According to him, the resolution of border issues has become a key issue.

The state border issue, which remained unresolved with neighboring countries for decades, has been fully resolved, making a significant contribution to strengthening stability in the country and the region.

"Today, our country has risen to a new level and is perceived differently by the international community. First of all, we have gone through difficult periods in relations with neighboring states: border issues remained unresolved, there were numerous disputed territories, which led to conflicts, and during the clashes, there were even casualties.

As of today, border issues with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have been resolved, which has significantly contributed to stability. The president has assumed responsibility in this regard and demonstrated political resolve,” the statesman noted.

Furthermore, Karashev added that steps have been taken in the country to implement major national and strategic projects, emphasizing that the president has set a number of ambitious goals for himself and the state for the future.

“Firstly, the start of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is noteworthy as a major strategic project. Financial issues for the project have been resolved, and work is already underway. Secondly, construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydro Power Station has begun. These two major projects were discussed for many years, but they never materialized. Today, we are witnessing the actual implementation of these projects. If completed, jobs will be created, and colossal, multi-billion dollar investments will flow into the country’s economy. The president has successfully convinced neighboring states of the need to launch these projects. Today, we all see that Kyrgyzstan is achieving significant success. The goal is to make the country one of the most dynamically developing countries. The President plays a crucial role in this process, as does his or her place, responsibility, and determination. Every citizen of Kyrgyzstan must be a patriot and contribute to the development and prosperity of our country in unity," he emphasized.

Orthopedist and academician Sabyrbek Zhumabekov also spoke of the country's development over the past five years as evidence of the country's sound domestic policy. According to him, as the economy grows, large-scale changes and innovations are taking place in the healthcare sector.

"The President previously stated that 2025 would be the year of medicine. More than 30 new medical facilities were completed last year. Furthermore, over 30 major medical institutions are currently under construction. This also indicates that our country's domestic policy is moving in the right direction. The state treasury has tripled. This figure is currently high compared to neighboring countries and developing countries worldwide," he noted.
