Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2025 /Kabar/. The apricot season has begun in Issyk-Kul – a short but bright summer holiday.
Photojournalist Vlad Ushakov captured the atmosphere of these days: trees covered with golden fruits, vendors along the roads with buckets of juicy apricots and shoppers rushing to stock up on fruit for the winter.
Thanks to the mild climate of the region, the sweetest and most aromatic apricots in Kyrgyzstan are grown here. They are valued not only in the country, but also abroad - Issyk-Kul fruits are exported to neighboring countries.
The season lasts only a month, so residents and visitors of the region try to have time to enjoy the taste and aroma of fresh apricots, from which jam, pastilles and dried apricots are made.
We present to your attention a photo report by Vlad Ushakov, dedicated to this sunny and fragrant time of the year.
