Grand opening of Chyngyz Aitmatov’s bust took place at Beijing Language and Culture University

Bishkek, Feb. 6, 2025 /Kabar/. As part of his state visit to China, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the grand opening ceremony of the bust of the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov at Beijing Language and Culture University.

The presidential press service reported that before the event, Sadyr Zhaparov left a note in the Book of Honored Guests of the university.

In his speech, President Zhaparov emphasized that the installation of the bust of Chyngyz Aitmatov is not only a symbol of recognition of his services to world culture, but also evidence of commitment to strengthening cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and China.

"Beijing Language and Culture University, as a meeting place for various cultures and ideas, is an ideal platform for perpetuating the memory of such a great personality. Today's event is a reminder that culture has a unique ability to overcome linguistic, national and territorial barriers, uniting states and peoples," said Sadyr Zhaparov and expressed gratitude to the sculptor from China who created the writer's bust.

The president expressed confidence that this work will become a source of inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to study Aitmatov's ideas and works.

"Such initiatives and projects are a clear evidence of our strong friendship, based on mutual respect, trust and the desire to deepen cooperation in science, culture and education. I am confident that the opening of the monument at the Beijing Language and Culture University will be a significant contribution to strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China and will serve as a strong symbol of the friendship of our peoples," the head of state noted.

In conclusion, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan strives for comprehensive cooperation with a good neighbor and loyal friend - China, based on the principles of mutually beneficial partnership for the sake of prosperity and well-being of the two countries and peoples.
