Bishkek, Jan. 30, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Republic's international reserves have exceeded $10 billion for the first time in history, according to Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the Presidential administration.

According to him, the information was announced by Melis Turgunbaev, Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, who emphasized that this refers to the country's gold and foreign exchange reserves.

"Kyrgyzstan's international reserves exceeded $10 billion for the first time. This is double-digit figure and truly significant achievement. In terms of our level, we are beginning to approach the level of large developed countries. Simply put, Kyrgyzstan has joined the so-called elite club of countries with high reserves," Turgunbaev noted.

As Orunbekov emphasized, the achieved reserve volume is almost twice the size of the republic's public external debt. This reliably protects the foreign exchange market from potential external shocks and ensures the country's imports are covered for almost nine months.

He added that the growth of international reserves is an important indicator of macroeconomic stability and confidence in the Kyrgyz Republic's financial system.
