Implementation of energy projects discussed in Bishkek

Bishkek, Jan. 22, 2026. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting on the implementation of investment agreements in the energy sector.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' press service, the meeting, held online and via video link, was attended by the heads of more than 15 companies involved in the construction of solar and wind power plants, hydroelectric power plants, and thermal power plants in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as those currently in the early stages of construction.

The meeting discussed the implementation of 12 investment agreements for the construction of solar and wind power plants using renewable energy sources with a total installed capacity of 5,450 MW, which are scheduled to be implemented starting in 2023.

The implementation of three investment agreements for the construction of hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 2,239 MW was also discussed, as well as three investment agreements for the construction of thermal power plants with a total capacity of 2,685 MW.

Completed work on the power plant construction, emerging issues, and solutions were discussed with entrepreneurs.

Kasymaliev noted the significant contribution of investors in the energy sector to the country's economic development and called for a responsible approach and the timely fulfillment of obligations under previously concluded agreements.

Furthermore, given the high demand for electricity in the country, it was emphasized that the Cabinet of Ministers is committed to ongoing collaboration with entrepreneurs interested in implementing projects in this sector.
