Bishkek, July 16, 2025. /Kabar/. The IV International Festival of Pop Music Performers "Meikin Asia" will be held in Issyk-Kul on July 20 – 22, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Timurlan Azhimaliev told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

According to him, talented young pop performers from more than 25 countries will take part in the festival. Each competition day will be accompanied by concerts with the participation of famous stars of Kyrgyzstan and abroad. The festival's guests of honor will be the winner of the first Meikin Asia festival, popular singer Dimash Kudaibergen, as well as the Ay-Yola and Sevak groups. Every year the scale of the event grows, and the geography of the participants expands.

"This year we paid special attention to holding an open national selection. 19 performers participated in the selection, and three winners were determined. One of them was chosen by the viewers themselves using online voting. This performer will represent Kyrgyzstan at the festival.

The same online voting system will be used in the main competition. The viewers will be able to vote for their favorite participant with the help of QR codes.

Preparations for the festival this year are especially thorough. The grand opening will take place on July 20, the second round takes place on July 21, and the closing ceremony of the festival takes place on July 22. On this day, Dimash Kudaibergen will perform and the winners will be awarded,” he said.

Azhimaliyev also noted that the main goal of the festival is to strengthen friendship and cultural ties between peoples through music, support young talented performers, develop the country's tourism potential, and preserve and enhance cultural heritage through cultural dialogue.

“We have submitted an official application to include this festival in the Association of World Festivals. This year, more than 70 foreign media outlets will cover the event. This will create conditions for cooperation with leading global cultural venues, expand professional ties and enhance the status of Kyrgyzstan as an active participant in international cultural events,” he emphasized.

The jury of the festival:

Chairman of the jury:

Members of the jury:

“I hope that the jury will choose a truly worthy performer,” he noted.

Jury member of the national selection “Meikin Asia”, People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Yryskeldi Osmonkulov said that such festivals open up great opportunities for talented performers to appear on the big stage.

“This competition gives many young people the opportunity to show their creativity and make a name for themselves. Some talents remain unnoticed, and the Meikin Asia festival helps them to make a name for themselves and develop professionally. Such events make a great contribution to the development of culture and art. We, as a jury, pay attention, first of all, to talent, voice and stage culture. It is gratifying that the level of participants grows every year. In addition, thanks to such festivals, the fame of Kyrgyz music spreads far beyond the country, and cultural ties are strengthened," he said.
