Issyk-Kul, Sept. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. The International Festival of Traditional Music “Kochmondor Sanaty,” held as part of the 6th World Nomad Games, brought together artists from 38 countries, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev said at the festival’s closing ceremony.
According to the minister, the four-day festival served as an important international platform for showcasing the traditional musical heritage of different peoples and strengthening friendship and cultural ties.
“Traditional music is a priceless treasure that passes the history, worldview, and spiritual heritage of a people from generation to generation. It is our shared responsibility to preserve, develop, and pass it on to future generations,” Mambetaliev said.
The minister congratulated the winners and runners-up of the competition, which featured storytelling, instrumental, and vocal-instrumental categories, and wished them continued creative success.
“I sincerely congratulate all the winners and runners-up of the competition! Congratulations on your achievements! I wish you new creative heights and great success,” he said.
Mambetaliev also expressed gratitude to the jury members, festival participants, and everyone involved in organizing the event, with particular appreciation for Roza Amanova and her team.
Addressing the foreign guests, the minister highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s hospitality and expressed hope that their visit would leave them with warm memories.
“May your days in Kyrgyzstan remain cherished memories, and may the culture and hospitality of our people leave a warm mark in your hearts. Kyrgyzstan will always be happy to welcome you back!” Mambetaliev concluded.

The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, 2026. The opening ceremony took place at Bishkek Arena in the capital on Aug. 31, while the main competitions are being held in the Issyk-Kul region from Sept. 1 to 6.
More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries are participating in the Games.
