Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. An international scientific conference will be held in the Issyk-Kul region on September 3 as part of the VI World Nomad Games, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation reported.
According to the ministry, the conference is one of the key intellectual events of the World Nomad Games and is designed to unite the scientific community for a comprehensive study of the historical heritage, philosophy, culture, traditions, and contemporary aspects of the development of nomadic civilizations.
This large-scale scientific forum will become an international platform for open academic dialogue, the exchange of cutting-edge scientific knowledge, and the strengthening of cooperation between research centers from different countries.
The conference reflects Kyrgyzstan's consistent state policy of preserving, scientifically understanding, and internationally promoting the historical and cultural heritage of nomadic peoples.
The scientific program of the World Nomad Games aims to develop nomadology as a modern interdisciplinary scientific field, strengthen international scientific cooperation, and create a global research platform for the study of nomadic civilizations.
The conference will bring together leading scholars, researchers, experts, representatives of international organizations, higher education institutions, and research centers from approximately 30 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the United States, Austria, Uzbekistan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, India, Belgium, France, New Zealand, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Ghana, Germany, Italy, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Sri Lanka, and Iran.
Conference participants will discuss current issues in the study of nomadic civilizations, their historical and cultural heritage, philosophy, traditions, and values, as well as modern approaches to the development of nomadology and interdisciplinary research.
Particular attention will be paid to expanding international scientific cooperation, developing joint research projects, academic exchange, and establishing new scientific ties between researchers and research centers from different countries.
Holding the conference as part of the VI World Nomad Games will highlight not only the sporting and cultural significance of the Games, but also their scientific and intellectual significance, creating conditions for a profound scholarly understanding of the civilizational legacy of nomadic peoples. The conference's opening ceremony will take place on September 3, 2026, at the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization in the village of Ornok in the Issyk-Kul region.
