Italian companies to implement investment projects in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 10, 2026. /Kabar/. Continuous work is underway to implement the agreements reached during the official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Italy. This was reported by the National Agency for Investments.

As noted in the report, the process of ratifying the agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments between Kyrgyzstan and Italy, as an important step in legally strengthening investment cooperation, is being completed in Jogorku Kenesh. This document is aimed at creating favorable conditions for investors, as well as strengthening investment partnership between the two countries.

In order to promote joint initiatives, the agency supports the agreed projects and maintains a permanent dialogue with Italian partners at the institutional and business levels.

The delegation of the Italian company "TRITOR" who arrived in Kyrgyzstan held meetings at the National Agency with the participation of the heads of local self-government bodies of the cities of Tokmok, Karakol, Osh, Kara-Balta and Bishkek, as well as representatives of relevant state structures.

During the negotiations, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the project to build a solid waste processing plant using modern Italian technologies.

As part of the visit, the Italian side was shown solid waste landfills in Tokmok and Kara-Balta as an opportunity to implement the project. The preliminary investment volume of the project is estimated at 10-12 million euros. Italian side expressed interest in a long-term lease of the land plot for up to 30 years.

In addition, the possibility of supplying medical waste processing equipment to one of the medical institutions of Chui region was discussed. The estimated cost of the equipment is 700 thousand US dollars. Currently, the parties are continuing consultations on the preparation of an investment agreement.

Particular attention is also paid to the initiative to hold a business forum in the "Central Asia + Italy" format. Kyrgyz side confirmed its readiness to provide full support for the preparation and holding of the event.

In order to further expand cooperation, the agency is initiating contacts with specialized development institutions in Italy and holding online meetings.
