Bishkek, July 27, 2026. /Kabar/. The municipal beach in Karakol city, which underwent a major renovation, was officially opened. The mayor's office reports.
According to the mayor's office, as part of the renovation and restoration work, the beach area was completely renovated, the lake shoreline was cleaned, and the sand layer was renewed. Walking paths, gazebos, shade shelters, sun loungers, changing rooms, showers, and restrooms were also installed for beachgoers.
In addition, children's and sports playgrounds were built on the beach, and modern lighting and video surveillance systems were installed. A rescue center and a medical center were established to ensure the safety of beachgoers.
The renovated beach is designed to accommodate thousands of beachgoers at a time and will create comfortable conditions for city residents and visitors. The project was implemented with financial support from the Shirshov Foundation.
The beach opening ceremony, held yesterday, was attended by Bakytbek Zhetigenov, the Issyk-Kul region governor, Talantbek Imanov, the Mayor of Karakol, city council members, representatives of municipal services, the Shirshov Foundation public foundation, construction workers, and city residents.
