Issyk-Kul, Sept. 4, 2026 /Kabar/. Kazakhstan brought 17 horses to compete in the baige (horse races) competition as part of the VI World Nomad Games. Almaz Sapayev, Executive Director of the Baiga Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, told Kabar news agency.
According to him, training of the horses began at the beginning of the season, and selection was based on rankings.
"We brought six horses for Kunan-baiga, five for Top-baiga, and six for Alaman-baiga," he said.
Sapayev noted that all the horses are in good condition and are imported.
"It all depends on preparation and luck. I think we'll be among the winners. It's hard to predict the outcome right now," he said.
He emphasized that the final result is influenced by a combination of many factors, making it difficult to predict the winners in advance.
