On May 26, 2026, in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev held separate meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Mario Lubetkin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua, Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker.
During the meetings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic briefed his counterparts on the current domestic situation in the country, Kyrgyzstan’s socio-economic achievements in recent years, and the key priorities of its foreign policy. He particularly emphasized the Kyrgyz side’s interest in further developing cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. In this context, he proposed joint efforts to strengthen political dialogue, expand trade, economic and investment ties, and promote cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Within the framework of multilateral diplomacy, the Minister proposed closer cooperation on issues of sustainable mountain development, including the organization and holding of the Second Global Mountain Summit in Bishkek in 2027. The importance of joint efforts to address global challenges such as climate change, environmental protection, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, and illegal migration was also emphasized.
In response, the counterparts reaffirmed their interest in further developing partnership with the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed readiness to intensify cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral tracks, highlighting the importance of joint efforts in addressing pressing international challenges.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the parties agreed to continue dialogue and strengthen cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations.
