Kyrgyz ambassador meets with deputy FM of Turkiye

Bishkek, Feb. 28, 2025. /Kabar/. On February 27, 2025, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Zeki Levent Gümrükçu, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kazakbaev provided detailed information on the political and economic reforms in Kyrgyzstan, carried out under the leadership of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

The issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye in the political, inter-parliamentary, trade and economic, educational, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye on multilateral platforms, were discussed.

Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev acquainted Deputy Minister Zeki Levent Gümrükçu with the concept of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Organization of Turkic States, as well as with the program and plans of the Kyrgyz Republic as a candidate for non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the period 2027-2028.

In addition, the Turkish side was informed about Kyrgyzstan’s promotion of the mountain agenda within the framework of the implementation of the “Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions” and plans to hold the International Conference “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development” in Bishkek this year.
