Bishkek, June 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Ambassador to Italy Ermek Omuraliev presented his credentials to Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Quirinal Palace, Rome.
After the official ceremony, the Italian president received the Kyrgyz ambassador.
The meeting discussed the current state and prospects for development of Kyrgyz-Italian relations. Ermek Omuraliev conveyed to Italian President Sergio Mattarella warm greetings from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time.
Italian president congratulated the ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and expressed his support for further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. Expressing his best wishes to Sadyr Zhaparov, Sergio Mattarella congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028, and confirmed Italy's interest in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
During the conversation, the parties noted the positive dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries, significant opportunities for expanding cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian and educational spheres, and confirmed the importance of practical cooperation in the "Central Asia - Italy" format.
