Kyrgyz ambassador presents credentials to OSCE Secretary General and UN representatives in Vienna

Bishkek, May 27, 2025 /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Austria and Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the International Organizations in Vienna Nurzhan Shaildabekova presented her credentials to Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Feridun Sinirlioglu as Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that, during the meeting the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE. Ambassador Shaildabekova conveyed an official invitation from the Kyrgyz side to the OSCE Secretary General to visit Kyrgyzstan at a time convenient for him.

Feridun Sinirlioglu noted the importance of Central Asia for the OSCE, emphasizing that Kyrgyzstan remains a key partner in the region, and expressed readiness for active interaction on issues of mutual interest.

Also on the same day, Nurzhan Shaildabekova presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, handed over to his Deputy — Director-General of the UN Office in Vienna and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Gada Vali.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Kyrgyzstan considers the UN Office in Vienna an important partner and remains committed to active interaction with UN agencies located in the Austrian capital. The parties confirmed their interest in further expanding cooperation within the framework of both existing and prospective programs.

Gada Vali expressed her readiness to support the Kyrgyz side in promoting joint initiatives within the mandate of UN agencies in Vienna.
