Kyrgyz athlete Keneshbekov wins silver at Asian Championships in China

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2026. /Kabar/. Nursultan Keneshbekov won a silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championships, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports reported.

From February 6 to 8, the Asian Athletics Championships were held in Tianjin, where athletes from Kyrgyzstan delivered solid performances.

On the opening day of competition, Iskender Chokaev finished 10th in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:56.83. In the men’s 400 meters, Ruslan Litovskiy placed 14th, clocking 49.57 seconds.

On the second day, Nursultan Keneshbekov secured the silver medal in the men’s 3,000 meters, posting a time of 7:55.06. In the same event, Zhusup Sulaiman uulu finished fifth with a time of 8:23.71.

As a result of the second day’s competition, Nursultan Keneshbekov became the silver medalist of the Asian Athletics Championships.
