Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2026. /Kabar/. 2 athletes from Kyrgyzstan will participate in the XXV Winter Olympic Games, State Agency for Physical Education and Sports reports.
According to the information, they are members of the national team Timur Shakirov (mountain skiing) and Artur Saparbekov (cross-country skiing).
Today, farewell ceremony for athletes participating in the Olympic Games was held, attended by Director of the State Agency for Physical Education and Sports Kazybek Moldajiev, President of the National Olympic Committee Umbetaly Kydyraliev and coaches.
As part of the event, Kazybek Moldajiev presented the national flag of Kyrgyzstan to Artur Saparbekov and wished him success.
It should be noted that the XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22. According to the competition program, Timur Shakirov will compete in the giant slalom on February 14 and the slalom on February 16.
Artur Saparbekov will compete in the classic sprint on February 10 and the freestyle (skating) on February 13.
