Kyrgyz banks restricted to charge commissions for international transfers

Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. On December 3, 2025, the Board of the National Bank adopted a resolution "On the temporary restriction of commission fees on money transfers."

According to the resolution, from January 1 to December 31, 2026, commercial banks and payment institutions are prohibited from charging commissions from money transfer recipients when receiving money transfers within the Kyrgyz Republic via international money transfer systems without opening an account.

The resolution was adopted to protect consumer rights and ensure the availability of money transfers via international money transfer systems for the public without opening an account.
