Bishkek, Jan. 13, 2026. /Kabar/. Cabinet of Ministers approved a new list of categories of workers with a special nature of work and the reduced working hours established for them. The corresponding Resolution No. 859 was signed on December 31, 2025.
The document was adopted pursuant to Articles 51 and 194 of the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Articles 13 and 17 of the Constitutional Law "On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic."
The resolution establishes an updated list of categories of workers with special nature of work, as well as the standard working hours for them, primarily 6 or 5 hours per day, depending on the specific nature of the work and the level of professional risk.
Reduced working hours are established for:
- healthcare workers in direct contact with infectious, tuberculosis, and psychiatric patients;
- employees of rehabilitation centers, physical therapy rooms, and pathology services;
- employees of ambulance stations, blood centers, and laboratories;
- workers in pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, and drug quality control laboratories;
- forensic experts;
- specialists working with radioactive substances and sources of ionizing radiation;
- employees of social institutions, nursing homes, and specialized children's institutions;
- laboratory and diagnostic service workers.
- certain categories of workers working with cadaveric material, particularly dangerous infections, and radiation sources have a set working day of 5 hours.
The resolution annuls:
Kyrgyz Government Resolution No. 39 of February 8, 2008;
Kyrgyz Government Resolution No. 131 of March 5, 2010, which amended the 2008 document.
The new resolution will take effect ten days after its official publication.
