Bishkek, June 11, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz-Chinese inter-ministerial consular consultations were held in Bishkek.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegations were led by Seitek Zhumakadyr uulu, Director of the consular department and Long Zhou, Director of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
During the talks, important and topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular sphere were discussed in detail.
One of the main aspects of the discussion was the issue of liberalization of the visa regime between Kyrgyzstan and China. The parties noted the importance of simplifying and accelerating the procedures for issuing visas to citizens in order to strengthen tourist and business ties.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of protecting the rights and interests of citizens and enterprises of Kyrgyzstan and China. The parties expressed their readiness to actively cooperate in this area in order to ensure justice and legality in the activities of citizens and entrepreneurs of both countries.
The parties also discussed the issue of extradition of convicted citizens. Kyrgyz side requested further assistance in considering requests for the extradition of citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving sentences in the territory of China and to expedite their consideration.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects for expanding the contractual and legal framework between the two states.
The parties confirmed their commitment to the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, and also exchanged experience in the field of digitalization and improvement of consular relations.
