Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2025. /Kabar/. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on official visit to Kyrgyzstan from November 19 to 20, 2025, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the visit, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue at the level of foreign ministers.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of pressing issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, emphasizing the significant intensification of cooperation between the two countries in recent years, and identified new objectives and long-term plans. It was noted that the two leaders have held three bilateral meetings this year.
During the talks, special attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, energy, processing industry, transportation, and the optimization of checkpoints. The foreign ministers of the two countries also emphasized the importance of further advancing the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The parties also exchanged views on development and cooperation within the UN, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Central Asia-China format. The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and China expressed their readiness to actively cooperate during the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship in the SCO in 2025-2026.
Following the talks, a Joint Statement was signed following the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, as well as a Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China for 2026-2027.
