Kyrgyz-Chinese laboratory opened in Gansu to protect cultural heritage

Bishkek, Dec. 2, 2025. /Kabar/. A Kyrgyz-Chinese laboratory for the protection of cultural heritage has been opened in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy reported.

According to the information, the opening ceremony was attended by Governor of Gansu Province, Ren Zhenhe, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and other institutions.

The main goal of the joint laboratory is to digitize cultural heritage sites, exchange experiences and train young personnel in the fields of restoration, conservation, archeology, and protection of cultural heritage.

In addition, Lianzhou University of Technology has allocated a quota for Kyrgyz students for a five-year period starting from the 2026 academic year.

The Kyrgyz delegation also visited several institutions and museums located in the cities of Xi'an, Lanzhou, and Tianshu.
