Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2025 /Kabar/. On September 26, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev held a bilateral meeting with Annalena Baerbock, the President of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, at the beginning of the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev warmly congratulated Annalena Baerbock on her election to the high post and wished her success in implementing her priorities during her presidency. He expressed support for the session's motto, "Better Together," as a relevant and inspiring call for consolidating the efforts of the global community.
The foreign minister also outlined the key initiatives and priorities of the Kyrgyz side at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, particularly emphasizing the importance of the climate and mountain agendas. In this context, he announced preparations for the high-level international summit "Bishkek+25" in 2027 and invited Baerbock to actively participate in this event.
The minister noted Kyrgyzstan's significant diplomatic achievement – the successful completion of years-long negotiations on the delimitation and demarcation of its state border with neighboring countries. He emphasized that these steps contribute to building trust, developing good-neighborly relations, and opening new prospects for sustainable peace and economic growth in Central Asia.
It is noted that special attention was paid to reforming the entire UN system, including the Security Council. Minister Kulubaev supported the initiative of UN Secretary-General Guterres to reform the "UN-80."
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to mutual support and expressed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation in the name of international peace, stability, and sustainable development, the report said.
