Bishkek, May 27, 2026. /Kabar/. Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres in New York.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, the parties discussed current international and regional issues, as well as prospects for further expanding cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN.
Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized the important role of the UN as a key universal international organization promoting peace, sustainable development, and multilateralism.
The parties noted the high level of interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN system, including in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, advancing the climate agenda, sustainable mountain development, and strengthening regional security.
Special attention was given to the upcoming visit of the UN secretary general to Bishkek to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. The secretary general noted that he was pleased to accept the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, to participate in the Summit.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the mutually beneficial dialogue and partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN, as well as continuing active interaction within international forums.
