Bishkek, March 23, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan intends to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Montenegro, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev told during the meeting with Montenegrin Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović.
According to Kulubaev, the parties held extensive talks and exchanged views on all areas of cooperation. Priority discussions included developing political dialogue between the two countries, organizing mutual high-level visits, and strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties.
"Since Montenegro, like Kyrgyzstan, is a mountainous country, we discussed a number of important issues. The focus was on expanding cooperation in agriculture and tourism. Given the high level of development of the tourism industry in Montenegro, we are interested in exchanging experiences and mutual cooperation in this area. We are also ready to deepen cooperation in education and technology,” the foreign minister stated.
Furthermore, as the minister noted, the two countries support each other within international organizations.
“We provide mutual support at various international platforms, such as the UN, UNESCO, and through dialogue with the European Union. We invited Montenegro to the Global Mountain Summit, which will be held in October 2027. As a mountainous country, they understand the challenges in this area well. Furthermore, in order to better understand our culture, we invited Montenegrin representatives to the World Nomad Games, which will be held in September of this year.
Overall, we have a firm intention to further expand and deepen our cooperation. We are interested in developing interaction at the intergovernmental, interpresidential, and interparliamentary levels. "It's no exaggeration to say that today a new chapter has opened in relations between our countries," Kulubaev added.
It's worth noting that Montenegrin Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović arrived in Kyrgyzstan today on a working visit. During his visit, he met with Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev. The opening of Montenegro's Honorary Consulate in Kyrgyzstan also took place.
