Kyrgyz, German FMs discussed projects in hydropower, logistics, and tourism

Bishkek, Feb.12, 2026 /Kabar/. On February 11, 2026, in Berlin, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev held bilateral meeting with Federal Foreign Minister of Germany Dr. Johann Wadephul, Foreign Ministry reported.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed the openness and readiness of the two countries to further deepen cooperation based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. Wide range of topical issues were discussed, including cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

The parties noted the importance of continuing mutual political dialogue by organizing reciprocal visits at various levels. Touching on the development of interparliamentary cooperation, Kulubaev reported on the results of the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, which were held in accordance with national legislation and international standards, ensuring transparency, openness, and public trust in the electoral process.

Noting the successful socioeconomic development of the Kyrgyz Republic in recent years, the Kyrgyz Minister called for joint measures to expand cooperation with German companies in promising sectors such as hydropower, agriculture, transport and logistics, and tourism infrastructure. Furthermore, the parties expressed their mutual desire to intensify collaboration in priority areas such as the green economy, e-commerce, new technologies, mobility, and education.

The ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues and discussed the two countries' cooperation within various international organizations and regional associations, including the UN, OSCE, and the EU.

Regarding the European Union's sanctions issue, Kulubaev called for more constructive and balanced approach from European countries. He noted the lack of clear and unambiguous grounds for restrictive measures and emphasized their potential negative consequences for the sustainable socioeconomic development of Central Asian countries. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic strictly adheres to its international obligations and is ready for an open, equal, and mutually beneficial dialogue with European institutions.
