Bishkek, Oct 2.2025 /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov met with Takashi Ando, CEO of the Japanese company Nagoya Railroad Co Ltd. (Meitetsu Group). According to Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, the parties held talks on expanding Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation in transport and logistics, personnel training, and the development of the tourism and hotel industries.
Edil Baisalov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to developing partnerships with Japan, emphasizing the significant impetus given to bilateral cooperation by President Sadyr Zhaparov's official visit to Tokyo in November 2023.
The sides discussed the opening of Transport Process Technology Program at Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, supported by Nagoya Railroad.
According to Baisalov, this initiative will be an important contribution to the training of qualified specialists for the national transport system.
The parties also discussed prospects for joint projects to develop transport infrastructure, including railway construction, as well as expanding cooperation in the tourism industry. In particular, they discussed investment opportunities in the hotel industry.
The Japanese side expressed its readiness to further develop cooperation, noting the high employability of Kyrgyz students and the importance of joint educational programs.
Following the meeting, they reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the transport, education, and tourism sectors, which will contribute to strengthening Kyrgyz-Japanese relations and creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership.
