Bishkek, March 14, 2025. /Kabar /. A meeting was held at the UN headquarters in New York on March 13 between Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshanbek Sabirov and UN Deputy Secretary-General Li Junhua.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of social security, support for older people and people with disabilities, as well as further cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the UN in these areas. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of national strategies developed with the expert support of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), including the State Program "Accessible Country" for 2023-2030.
The minister emphasized that the country plans to strengthen efforts to develop rehabilitation centers, support active longevity, as well as develop a system of gerontology and geriatrics.
Sabirov expressed deep gratitude for the comprehensive support from UN agencies in all areas related to the social block, including issues of social protection, rehabilitation, habilitation, advanced training of specialists and the introduction of universal design principles into national legislation.
"All these steps are carried out within the framework of the state social policy, which is implemented thanks to the policy of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov. The president creates conditions for effective interaction with international partners and the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens," he said.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, the parties confirmed their commitment to the implementation of joint initiatives and strengthening partnership.
