Bishkek, March 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Finance Zhibek Duysheeva is participating in the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), taking place March 9–13, 2026, in New York, USA.
According to the press service of the ministry of finance, the Kyrgyz Republic's delegation to the ministerial week includes representatives of government agencies, including the ministry of finance, highlighting the ministry's participation in international discussions on issues related to the promotion of gender equality, women's empowerment, and the socioeconomic aspects of sustainable development.
The session will feature a series of high-level events, including:
– Ministerial roundtables on the priority topic of "Ensuring and Expanding Access to Justice for All Women and Girls" and the new topical topic of "Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering Older Women";
– High-level meeting on violence against women;
– Interactive dialogue on promoting women's participation in public life and decision-making;
– General debate on the implementation of commitments made under the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the UN General Assembly.
The Kyrgyz delegation is led by Deputy Chairman Edil Baisalov, who represents Kyrgyzstan's position at the main sessions of the session.
Deputy Minister of Finance Duysheeva serves as part of the official delegation, participating in high-level meetings and working events of the Commission, ensuring the representation of the ministry of finance in the international arena and the ministry's participation in discussions of issues of financial, economic, social, and legal significance for the country.
The ministry's participation in CSW70 contributes to strengthening cooperation with international organizations, sharing experiences, and advancing Kyrgyzstan's position in the area of gender-oriented public policy and socio-economic development.
