Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. Forum entitled "Preserving Tradition - Building the Future: Felt and Cultural Heritage" took place in Gulcho, Alay district of Osh region.
As reported by the parliament, the forum discussed the issues of preserving, developing and promoting traditional felt art and intangible cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people, and made recommendations.
The participants visited special exhibitions featuring the works of folk masters.
The event was attended by deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh Toktobubu Ashymbayeva, Mavlyuda Kalberdieva, Aigul Akhmedova, Edita Taigaraeva, representatives of a number of state bodies, local authorities, civil society, and experts.
The representatives noted that traditional felt art is an integral part of national culture and stated that the state should take all necessary measures to develop it and pass it on to future generations.
