Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2025. /Kabar/. Jyldyz Bakashova, Director of the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan, participated in the largest global museum forum, ICOM Dubai 2025, which was held in Dubai from November 11 to 17.
According to the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the ICOM Dubai 2025 conference brought together museum professionals from more than 130 countries and included over 400 speakers, over 100 panel discussions, over 10 plenary sessions, and a major exhibition of museum innovations.
The main topics of discussion were:
- demographic and social changes
- artificial intelligence and digital technologies
- protection of cultural heritage
- inclusive museum environment
- museum diplomacy
- impact of museums on social development.
Bakashova spoke at the session "Artificial Intelligence and Museums," where she shared her views on the role of AI in museum activities, the preservation of digital archives, and the prospects for virtual exhibitions. The discussion "What Story Do Museums Tell?" addressed issues of public voice, historical representation, and cultural diversity in museum practice.
During the forum, Jyldyz Bakashova met with ICOM President Emma Nardi and ICOM UAE Vice President and Chairman Nasir Al Darmaki. The parties discussed expanding cooperation and implementing joint innovative and inclusive museum projects.
National History Museum was able to participate in ICOM with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the museum officially participated in this major global forum for the first time.
