Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2026. /Kabar/. Parliament's committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction approved the draft law "on Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'on Renewable Energy Sources'" in three readings.
As Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov noted, the draft law was developed to develop renewable energy sources, modernize the energy system, improve the investment climate, and ensure sustainable economic development.
The draft law also aims to implement the presidential decree on attracting investment in the green economy.
"Currently, there are certain restrictions on attracting investment in renewable energy sources. In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes setting tariffs in foreign currencies for investment projects. This will reduce risks for foreign investors and enhance the country's investment attractiveness. "Furthermore, the bill provides for preferential terms and will introduce auction mechanisms for tariff determination. This will ensure transparency in the selection process and promote the competitiveness of projects," the deputy minister said.
