Kyrgyz-Slovak foreign ministry consultations held in Bratislava

Bishkek, June 11, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz-Slovak foreign ministry consultations were held in Bratislava between Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Marek Eštok.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed the current state and development directions of Kyrgyz-Slovak relations, issues of trade, economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the official visit of Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár to Kyrgyzstan in April 2025.

The parties confirmed their interest in implementing the signed bilateral documents and promoting joint projects in the fields of economy, investment, energy, transport and education.

The issues of organizing mutual visits at the highest levels were considered separately. The parties noted the importance of continuing the preparations for Kyrgyz president's working visits to Slovakia and the Slovak leadership to Kyrgyzstan, and highly appreciated their role in activating bilateral cooperation.

The parties noted the high level of interaction within international organizations, including the UN, the OSCE, and the formats of cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union.

In this regard, the Slovak side congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028 and expressed its readiness to continue close cooperation on issues on the international agenda.

In addition, issues of consular and legal cooperation, including labor migration, social protection of citizens, and improving the contractual and legal framework between the two countries were discussed.
